我们很难想象那些不喜欢刀枪的男人是什么样的......不管女权主义怎样叫嚷，目前这个世界还是男人在掌控着，所以刀的进步从来未曾停止，现代科技与工艺更为这个行业创出一番新天新地。刀的发展体现了一个时代冶金业、材料工业和加工工业的程度，同时，也是文化和个性的展现。每一年都有数百上千新的品牌和型号喧嚣上市；而各个老字号仍然屹立不倒，力求突破；更有那些传奇般的停产型号在藏家手中流传，数量一年少过一年，价格则一年贵过一年。怎样在这个局势下淘到真正好货色，就好比股票选长线一样考功力。

中国大陆虽然与世界接轨较晚，但这个民族崇文尚武的传统使刀具收藏圈子发展得非常迅速。然而，刀具收藏绝非一朝一夕之功，首先必须有真正爱刀的心情和兴趣，然后痛下苦功去多看多听多试，同时量入为出，合理作好财务计划，这样才能慢慢成为合格之藏家。如果初识皮毛，就胡乱吹嘘，那只会贻笑大方。从一个人收藏的刀你可以看出他的真正性格，甚至梦想。每当趣味相投的刀友们相识，真是一见如故，各自都把藏品一样样SHOW出来观赏讨论，那真是人生最大的欢乐和得意。

好刀如繁星，不能完全列出；而各人的眼光又不尽相同，所以不是没有难度。好的刀不一定很贵，而是否“出名”更是一个受诸多因素制约的衡量方法，不过，真正的好刀就象真正的美女，毕竟是有目共睹的。现代刀具界在近二十年的发展极其惊人，同时由于经济和商务的渗透，使刀具真正成为实用+收藏并行的行业，呈现蓬勃生机。

Mad Dog Knives(MDK)这个名字对各位来说，或许并不象某些刀厂为人所熟知，但是收藏特战装备的玩家和刀具收藏家、户外运动爱好者都知道这家刀厂的产品除了“完美”之外，实在难以找到另一个词汇来形容。

Mad Dog 刀具使用 Starrett 496-01 高碳工具钢，经过非常专业的淬水-挤压-回火热处理流程，使每片刀刃达到理想的层变硬度：刀锋硬度为HRC62-63，具有非常出色的刀锋保持性；而刀尖、刀脊和柄芯的硬度则在HRC50-54，保持良好的弹性，防止刀尖折断，并且增强了刀刃的韧性。除此之外，所有的刀刃都经过电镀处理，加上厚厚一层坚硬的铬合金，具有很强的抗腐蚀和磨损能力。

Mad Dog刀具的手柄都经过人体功能学设计，形状独特，把握极其舒适称手。它的食指凹槽让使用者即使看不见也能凭手感找到握刀的位置。手柄材料是一种不公开的黑色环氧玻璃化合物，可承受极高压力和高温，这种材料可以轻易地承受 .45口径枪子弹的冲击，而且几乎不被化学溶剂腐蚀。全隐藏式柄芯，确保使用者在工作时不会触电。

MDK在同用途的刀具之中的售价偏高，但那是因为MDK都是手工刀。在市场中也有性能上与其相差不远的刀，但是仔细比较，MDK多了别人所没有的细腻与质感。而且由于收藏者众，所以常常千金难求。所以如果有足够的预算，相信MDK 将会是喜欢性能与质感兼具的好刀的藏家最好的选择。

ATAK是Advanced Tactical Assault Knife(可译为[高级战术突击刀])的缩写。这把刀可说是MDK的成名刀，在1992年由西岸海豹所做的残酷测试中，ATAK是唯一通过测试的刀， 测试的内容包括将刀夹在两片木片中，由225磅（约100公斤）的海豹队员握住刀柄来做引体向上的动作，而ATAK毫发无伤；其他还有切割砍剁各种材质、刀身防腐蚀测试、握柄防火测试等。MDK的ATAK刀款为Navy SEAL所选用，不同于一般公发装备，每把SEAL版ATAK都刻有流水号，出勤前若有需要使用必须登记领取，任务结束后交回（不过还是有少许流出就是）。

现代版ATAK跟SEAL版所不同的是没有刀尖假刃、刀背上的filework(增强弹性)、黑色涂布，此外没有太大的差异。ATAK的刀尖有点前倾，那是回性刀尖和刀刃曲线所造成的感觉，其刀尖还是维持在刀身中央。重心刚好在刀柄接刀刃处，拿起来并不会有想象中的重。厚达1/4英寸的刀背，平面打磨刀身，兼顾了强度和切割能力。ATAK采用flat grind 研磨，虽然刀身厚达1/4寸，但是开锋角度并不会太大，又维持良好的刀身强度，在两者之间取得一个非常完美的平衡点。值得一提的是，ATAK刀身两边非常的平整而且对称，开锋角度也非常对称。

BuckMaster184是生存刀的鼻祖，同样由PHROBIS III公司与 BUCK公司共同设计生产，并因为电影《第一滴血》而声名大噪。由于产量少，停产时间久，而且一般使用任务比较繁重，所以很难求到品相较好的货品。

Buck-Master是由美国海豹部队与一家海外的设计公司联合设计开发的，这家海外公司叫做Phrobis(佛罗比斯)，专长于手工武器和刀具的研究和设计。1984年，BUCK将3000把Buck-Master直接销售给军队，其余地公开出售。后来由于加工线忙于生产其他新的工具，就停止了Buck-Master的生产。（但这种设计已经被接纳，几年以后，Phrobis成为美军首个M9军刺承约商，再次与BUCK合作生产Phrobis III - BUCK M9）

Buck-Master刀刃用5/16英寸（0.8cm）的425 mod钢材，热处理后达到58 RC硬度。刀刃长7.5英寸（19.05cm），经两次淬火热处理，和柄芯锻炼，因为刀刃和空心手柄是以螺钉上在一起的，这就要求柄芯具有一定的延展性。

空心手柄内侧用树脂填封，在盖口大概5厘米的地方加套一个o 形环防止进水。刀背前端有一段锯齿锋附刃，方便割绳子；刀脊上带背齿，可以锯东西。刀刃采用平面打磨，以支持背齿的力度，由于背齿的齿粒很大，所以锯的时候很轻松，尤其是对付冰柱、金属的时候更是如此。

刀柄上的锚钉本来是设计来固定铁链，这样把刀插在地上就可以建起链栅；但后来发现人们都把它当作锚来用，这倒是当初没想到的。

这把刀的设计原则是在危急时刻为主人提供多种用途。刀鞘和缚带可以把刀固定在大腿上或足踝内侧，潜水时比较方便可靠。生产的第一年，Buck 共售出5万把Buck-Master。而且影片《第一滴血》的拍摄和上映期间，销售量更大幅飚升。

Buck Master，大型猎刀刃型生存刀，应美国海军海豹特种部队需求而设计制造。刃长约19cm，标准Bowie猎刀形，主刃凹式打磨，长16.5cm；背侧开锯齿附刃。刀刃背端有7.5cm长背齿。刀刃最宽处约为3.7cm，刃厚约7mm。军方销售版刀刃开血槽，正面铭文：BUCK 184 U.S.A. PAT PEND。公开销售版无血槽，正面铭文：BUCK 184 U.S.A. 。护手厚约6mm，流线打磨，与刀刃方向垂直。
护手两头均有螺纹孔，可上51mm长、10mm直径的尖锚钉，当在刀柄帽上的系绳孔上系上绳子时，整把刀可以做固定钩或锚等用途。手柄长约10.2cm，直径约2.8cm，带凹-凸纹路以便把握牢固。手柄中空可以放一些如火柴、针等小应急用品，柄帽可沿螺纹旋开/关上。柄帽直径略比手柄大，套以黑色o形橡胶环防止进水。柄帽上固定有一片4.5mm厚的钢片，上面钻有系绳孔。

全不锈钢制造，外面镀以不光滑的银表面来减弱反光。184是一把厚重、做工精良、而用途广泛的生存刀，代表着BUCK最顶级的产品品质。

刀鞘以加固处理的黑色硬玻璃纤维做成，正面有两个可拆卸的小型附件袋，背面嵌有一块磨刀石。配置在刀鞘各处的厚型黑色尼龙宽带起着遮盖住磨刀石，固定附件袋，和确保刀不会滑出鞘等作用，同时也能把鞘缚在腿上。鞘口还有一段宽带连着压开型带扣，可以将刀鞘挂在装备上。

Timberline Specwar特种作战刀是Ernest Emerson与Voughn Neeley为特种部队而协作设计的高科技军用刀，作为两位大师精心合作的成果，它的每个细节均符合实战需要，并荣获1994年[BLADE]杂志“年度美洲制刀大奖”。自停产后，虽然后来市面上又有众多仿制设计产品出现，但此早期原版已经绝迹江湖多年，深受藏家怀念。

刀刃材料为ATS-34不锈钢，硬度达到HRC 60，凿式打磨，先进的TANTO刀尖构形。为了消除反光，刀刃表面加上黑色钛-氮涂层。手柄用一种合成材料——玻璃纤维强化型尼龙材料，环绕刀刃柄芯整体浇铸而成。手柄头用304不锈钢，可以用来敲、砸，同样地，其表面也经过黑色钛-氮涂层表面处理。随刀配送的原厂强化型Kydex装备鞘，带多个快速别扣，可以别在背包上、腿上、手臂上或装备上。后来的各种仿制版都没有复制此刀鞘，所以也成为原版的一个独特之处。
